"Welcome to the website for students at the University of Portsmouth."
This scheme is for current and former University of Portsmouth students who refer an applicant to study here. We will reward you with £400 if their application results in a registration.
How does the scheme work?
First, you should download and complete the International Alumni Referral Award Form below. You must ensure that the International Alumni Referral Award Form is attached to the application when it is sent to the International Office. If you are submitting an online application, please select IARA from the agent drop-down menu and attach a copy of the completed IARA Form.
Please note: we cannot link the application to you after we have received the application and it has been input into the University's Admissions System
If your friend's application is successful and they register at the University in September, you will need to contact us from November to process your referral award payment. Your payment will be made in January, assuming that your friend is still registered with the University. Only ONE referral award can be given per registration. If an applicant is referred by more than one alumnus or contracted representative of the University, the first referral received will be the one rewarded if the applicant registers.
The application must be sent to the International Office - not to the Academic Registry.
Nigerian students and alumni: From January 2013, IARA applications from Nigeria should be forwarded to the International Office as instructed above, and no longer to our in-country representative, Glory Educational Services. We do, however, recommend asking the person you are referring to take advantage of the visa assistance offered by Glory Educational Services.
Yes you can. Although the scheme is aimed at our alumni (hence the name of the award!), we appreciate that current students are also in a position to spread the good word about the University. As long as you have no outstanding fees to pay the University (tuition fees, accommodation fees, library fines) we would welcome your participation.
You can only claim the referral award for:
