About us

We recognise and understand the cultural changes you may experience whilst studying here in the UK. We are available to give help and advice on any issues you wish to discuss. We are also here to support you as you settle into life in Portsmouth and the University.

Our office is situated in the International Office, Nuffield Centre. Come into to see us, email or call us for advice on any issue.

What do we do?

We can advise and assist you with:

• Police registration appointments
• Student visa extensions: student visas and dependants visas only
• General employment rules
• Coach trips and social events
• The Island e-newsletter
• Advice on how to produce invitation letters for family and friends' visits to the UK
• Visiting other countries: obtaining a Tourist Visa
• Registering with a doctor
• Police Liaison and advice on safety and security
• How to join cultural societies and sport clubs through the Students' Union
