The Open Day Guide contains useful information for your visit plus a list of department talks and campus tours and an open day planner.
How to get here
The main station for the University is ‘Portsmouth and Southsea’ - within five minutes walking distance from all University buildings.
There are regular daily direct coach services to London (for countrywide connections), Bristol (for West Country/South Wales), Birmingham (the Midlands and North), Heathrow and other locations. These services all call at The Hard Interchange by Portsmouth Harbour railway station. From here the Guildhall Campus is a short taxi ride or a 15 minute walk away (see the Guildhall Campus map).
Park-and-Ride is a quick and easy way to get to the University for just £4 per vehicle, located on the M275 at the entrance to the city with 663 spaces and frequent buses. Look out for the Open Day buses and our student guides in purple and alight at Burnaby Road. Download the voucher you’ll need to catch the Open Day bus, which you can also find in your postal welcome pack.
Please allow at least 30 minutes from arriving at the Park-and-Ride to arriving at your designated campus building.
Take the M275 into Portsmouth (signed 'Portsmouth West'), whether approaching from the east (A3(M)/A27) or the west (M27 Junction 12). If approaching from A3(M)/A27, ignore junctions signed to Southsea and Hilsea and follow the M275.
Continue along the M275 onto the A3. As you pass St John's Cathedral continue straight on at the traffic lights. St John's Cathedral is at the top of the Guildhall Campus map.
Find out where certain buildings are by visiting our online Campus Map, which is also in the Open Day Guide.
