Determine critical factors (CSFs) of continuous improvement implementation in the Saudi public sector
Continuous improvement (CI) is a philosophy that Deming described simply as consisting of “Improvement initiatives that increase successes and reduce failures”. Moreover, it is a culture of consistent improvement that targets organisations’ waste elimination in all processes and systems, mutually involving everyone to enable improvements without investing huge capital amounts.
The public sector in developing countries is striving to improve the level of output and the workers’ performance in organisations. It is working towards increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of organisations through the innovation of tools and techniques, especially in the administrative department. The academic studies are limited in Saudi Arabia; particularly in the public service sector organisations and the adopting this research can add knowledge in a successful implementation of continues improvement. Moreover, Successful practises of CI require Saudi public organisations to identify factors that lead to active CI. The purpose of my research is to discover the common factors that lead to implementing continuous programme improvements successfully in the Saudi service environment.
