Finance for Directors

Following on from our successful Value-Added Board programme for current and aspiring directors, Finance for Directors looks at management accounting, with a particular focus on the relationship between finance and marketing.

The course has been designed for non-Finance Directors, to aid and support greater understanding of key financial issues and how they relate to other aspects of a business. You will increase your knowledge of management accounting, and gain insight into this vital aspect of business growth and development.

Sessions will cover:

  • Introduction to Value Based Management and drivers of value
  • a financial evaluation of marketing decisions – approaches to pricing, and evaluating the promotion mix. This will incorporate a consideration of concepts such as contribution and profit.
  • understanding organisational profitability – product profitability, market segment analysis, and customer account profitability

This is a half-day programme. Delivered in small groups and led by Bruce Bowhill, Principal Lecturer in Accounting, sessions will operate under Chatham House Rule, enabling honest and open discussion.

Cost

A place on Finance for Directors costs just £250 per person. This includes the half-day session, all course materials, and refreshments.
