The University of Portsmouth, a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Accredited Centre for Human Resources education in the UK, has a proud tradition of delivering Human Resource programmes in the Cayman Islands since 2000. The tenth Professional Certificate in HR Practice will start in Grand Cayman in 2017. The CHRP will be delivered on-island by University of Portsmouth Faculty with substantial Cayman Islands experience. The teaching is set in the context of the Cayman Islands and recognises the Cayman economic, social and legal dimensions.  This a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills of HR and this course provides an excellent foundation whether you are an HR professional, aspiring to develop a career in HR or someone who manages people on a day to day basis – don’t delay express your interest today and boost your career.

Entry to CHRP

This CHRP is open to HR professionals, those who aspire to become an HR professional and to Line Managers who wish to develop their skills and knowledge in managing people. There is normally quite a diverse group with students from public and private organisations and in many different roles. This diversity provides a very interesting learning experience.

Classes on-island

The CHRP is delivered in six teaching sessions. Four of 4 days Tuesday to Friday blocks from 8.30am to 4.30pm and two of two days Tuesday and Wednesday blocks from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Details of the venue of classes will be announced soon and you will study the following modules:

  • Understanding organisations and the role of HR (4 days)
  • Performance management and reward (4 days)
  • Resourcing talent through recruitment and selection (4 days)
  • Developing yourself as an effective HR practitioner (2 days)
  • Recording, analysing and using HR information (2 days)
  • Managing employment relations and labour law (4 days)

Tuition Fees:

The total tuition fee payable to the University is £5500, and payment options are available. The tuition fee includes the teaching, and all course materials as well as the access to our extensive library and student support resources.
