Portsmouth School of Architecture
International exchanges, projects and collaborative opportunities are at the heart of the School of Architecture’s values.
As a school we welcome students from diverse locations around the world. Over 20% of our student body and 10% of our staff are international from around 40 countries across the world. We believe this diversity creates a vibrant and rich design community and this in turn informs how learn and teach.
International exchanges, projects and collaborative opportunities are at the heart of the School of Architecture’s values. We continually seek to create international experiences for our students to explore different cultures in response to the fast moving global world. Cultural awareness is cultural.
We have strong connections with other Schools and organisations across the world and actively promote cultural exchange. This ranges from international teaching networks supported by Erasmus and partnerships with Universities further afield to international collaborative workshop projects within the design studio.
Erasmus+ offer opportunity to study or work in Europe as part of your course.
Each year the school offers a diverse range of study visits run by specialist staff to locations across the globe. These are activities are optional and designed to enhance you design understanding. Each explore a city, place of building in a particular way from city visits to Rotterdam to study housing to the in in-depth study of local vernacular building in Morocco.
