Photorealistic Facial Animation in Real Time

Project overview:

This project will develop methods and tools to support photorealistic 3D facial animation in real time. The research undertaken for this project will target realistic facial movement reconstruction and modelling. It will have emphasis on online modelling of 4D facial expressions using a RGB-D sensor. The applicant will work at the School of Creative Technologies within the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries.

Specific entry requirements:

Applicants are expected to have a background in animation, game, computer animation/game, computer science, engineering or applied mathematics. Experience in 3D processing/reconstruction, image processing or computer vision will be of particular interest.

Funding Notes:

The funding source is the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries. The studentship covers University tuition fees and provides an annual tax-free stipend of £14,057 per annum.
