The final seminar in the 2009-2010 Language Across Borders seminar series was given by Professor Malcolm Coulthard from Aston University. Professor Coulthard gave the audience an insight into how linguists have increasingly been employed as expert witnesses in trials. He showed how linguistic analysis can be employed to show likely authorship - and thus possible guilt or innocence. The audience was interdisciplinary, drawn mostly from ELL and ICJS
