The documentary film God forbid! The world of ultra-Orthodox Jews in Israel, which was co-scripted and co-directed by Dr Yohai Hakak and aired back in July on the ARTE network, has been nominated for a Grimme Prize. The main aim of the Grimme Prize, which has been awarded annually since 1964, is to critically examin the important medium of television. The film has been nominated for its unique insight into the closed world of the haredim in Jerusalem and their struggle to protect their traditonal way of life. The result of the nominations will be known shortly.
