Profile
Current Research Projects
I am currently working on a study of SSR and the EU Regional Stabilisation Process, drawing lessons from the 2006 Kosovo Internal Security Sector Review (ISSR). My hypothesis is that any attempt at SSR must take into account the inter- and intra-institutional rivalries that are present in post-conflict or transitional state reconstruction and development initiatives. The objective of the research is to critically examine the protocols and modalities relating to SSR, as applied by EU Member States, using the Kosovo ISSR as a case study. The research will examine the relationships between the key actors and judge their impact on the Review, the international organisations in Kosovo and the Kosovo Provisional Institutes of Self-Government and draw conclusions that may be of use to future interventions by the EU.
