Social and Cultural History
This group includes diverse scholars working on aspects of social and cultural history in European societies and beyond. There are a number of areas of focus including histories of leisure and working-class sociability in modern Britain; economic histories of twentieth-century Britain and its Empire; Histories of political culture in revolutionary France; the history of religion, magic and folklore; studies of modern historiography and historical methodologies; histories of race and immigration, the history of film and analyses of classical and modern social theory.
Research supervision is available in all these fields.
