These are classified using DDC, and shelved in that order. Pamphlets are interfiled in the book sequence.

FAO Collection

This special collection contains a wide range of material published by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO/UN), including their three main fisheries series, FAO Fisheries Reports; FAO Fisheries Technical Papers; and FAO Fisheries Circulars. In addition, the library receives many other FAO fisheries publication series from their various regional fisheries programmes, e.g. Committee for Inland Fisheries in Africa (CIFA); Bay of Bengal Programme (BOBP); European Inland Fisheries Advisory Commission (EIFAC); and General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM). This collection is primarily arranged alphabetically by serial title or programme title, with a short classified sequence (DDC) at the end.

Journals

The CEMARE Library has an extensive collection of serial publications. Current issues of journals are displayed in wall pockets. 

Reprints

The CEMARE Library has several collections of reprints which have been deposited by staff for teaching and research purposes. They are located in filing cabinets near the entrance to the Reading Room. Reprints are broadly classified by subject, i.e. aquaculture; environment; and fisheries and are currently filed alphabetically by author.

Staff Theses

Staff theses are shelved alphabetically by author.

Student Dissertations (MSc)

Student dissertations are shelved in year order, and then alphabetically by author.
