Computer Science and Software Engineering Research Group
The Computer Science and Software Engineering research group has recently been formed to provide a single front for the CSSE department research and to encourage true collaboration between active research staff.
This group will now combine all the different research groups within the department but still retain the individuality needed to encourage specialisation.
Research teams are best built from a range of different expertise since it is through these differences that new ideas and insights emerge. This gives us the opportunity to make a significant impact on Computer Science by leading into new directions through the cross-fertilisation of different scientific fields.
The groups current fields of research include:
- Artificial Intelligence
- The Psychology & Philosophy of Programming
- Formal Analysis
- Music Communication
- Agents & Belief Systems
- Knowledge Discovery, Data Mining
- Networking
- Multi-dimensional & Biological Modelling
- Virtual Reality
