I joined Portsmouth in 2007, having previously worked as an Associate Software Engineer at Clearswift Ltd using machine learning techniques to detect adult images and image spam.

I am currently working as a Research Assistant to Dr David Brown at the Institute of Industrial Research in the fields of fault diagnosis and condition monitoring.

Current Research

Books

I am currently working on using Support Vector Machines and other one class classification methods to identify abnormalities in aircraft flight data and vibration data from machines.  I am looking at methods to not only detect faults but also to identify the transition between normal and abnormal behaviour.
