Lean Programme
We are expert in both the 6 sigma statistical and the systems integrated human approaches to quality improvement using lean methods. We take a strategic view of your organisation to recommend the more appropriate blend of good practice that is likely to be effective for you.
The way in which we might help you
Facilitation: We have software to capture the voice of the customer and the staff economically. The results drive the lean programme by identifying the priorities for improvement. Our expertise is also in facilitation skills, involving staff, customers and suppliers in implementing realistic, effective and sustainable improvement. Supporting the improvements is an ideal challenge for a University postgraduate working alongside a University expert.
Training design and delivery: We can help you retain and motivate your key staff, by providing a qualification to acredit their existing competence provided they expand their knowledge in global good practice and provide evidence of implementing it to achieve bottom line benefits to your organisation. We would jointly deliver with you and provide on line line support as they implement the improvements.
Benefit
Lean has a track record of consistently delivering faster responses to customers, reduced overheads required and ideas for added value to be provided to customers. A systems approach encourages sustainability of the results.
Cost
Cost of employment/hour for the relevant expert. Potentially this can be supplemented by postgraduate support with an accompanying government grant subsidy.
Our expert in this area
Dr. Simmy Marwa is a qualified black belt in lean improvement. Dr Barbara Savage is client manager for our Masters programme in Strategic Quality Improvement with Hewlett-Packard.
Our track record of success
Training design and delivery: Hewlett-Packard use our programme to add strategic and customer centred innovation to their in-house lean Black Belt programme. Their lean champions fly in from across the EMEA region. Please watch feedback from three students Caroline Lindsey Ray
Facilitation: We have run lean projects in more than 35 local organisations, both service and manufacturing, many in collaboration with partners such as H.M. Royal Navy and Engineering Employers Federation. Contacting the CEO 6 months later, we have consistently discovered ongoing benefits reported, from cash flow savings to improved productivity to increased sales.
"Through the programme, led by EEF South with the University of Portsmouth, we were able to identify a number of areas where significant improvements could be made. The process allowed us to work through our current practices and assess where improvements could be made by applying the principles of service excellence. Following the training we have implemented and continue to work to our action plans, helping us to deliver increased productivity and improved customer satisfactioni."
