Provide an apprenticeship for a qualified engineering or business postgraduate student who would champion the introduction of a leading edge control system for maintenance of your assets.
For example he/she would prepare a specification of your needs, identify alternative software vendors and prepare the relevant business case. Implementation would be supported and training provided for staff.

Short term resource to meet a legal obligation.
Cost:
50% of the full cost of employment, plus 50% of the cost of four hours per week supervision by a relevant asset management expert. Balance funded by UK government.

Professor Ashraf Labib is director of research at University of Portsmouth Business School. His expertise is in Manufacturing Maintenance Systems. He is a Fellow of the Operational Research Society (ORS), a Fellow of the IET and a Chartered Engineer.
