Dr Honghai Liu (honghai.liu@port.ac.uk) is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Creative Technologies with research interests in machine intelligence, multi-sensor fusion, fuzzy and qualitative reasoning, knowledge representation, motion planning, robotic systems and web-based systems. Honghai is an Investigator for grant applications to the EPSRC.

Dr Ying Liu (A.0-11E - ying.liu@port.ac.uk) is a Senior Lecturer in Electronic and Computer Engineering and a supervisor for Stephen Urwin-Wright.

Dr David Ndzi (A.1.6A - david.ndzi@port.ac.uk) is a Senior Lecturer in Electronic and Computer Engineering and a supervisor for Martin Langner. David is a member of both the Systems Engineering Research Group and the Microwave Telecommunication Systems Research Group (where he investigates wireless broadband communications, especially the effective use and management of the frequency spectrum to support future applications).  He is the Director of Studies for three other students.

Dr Lynn Pevy (lynn.pevy@port.ac.uk) is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Portsmouth. She is a co-author for work begun by Gareth Lambert on Artificial Neural Networks and Fourier Descriptors and Lynn has provided mathematical input and advice to the work. Lynn is also the First Year Leader for all mathematics degree courses and a member of the Board of Governors of the University. Lynn's current research interests are in applied mathematics.

Professor Carl Ross (A0.20 - Carl.Ross@port.ac.uk) is Professor of Structural Dynamics in the Mechanical and Design Engineering department.  His main research interests lie on the strength and vibration of submarine structures. To validate his theories, he uses both finite element and experimental techniques and his theories are computer dependent. He is a member of both the Systems Engineering Research Group and the Stress Analysis Research Group.

Dr David Sanders (A.0-22 / A.0-12/3 - david.sanders@port.ac.uk) is the Reader in Systems and Knowledge Engineering.  David is an Investigator on most projects in the group and Director of Studies for seven of the research students.  He is the founding member of the research group and personally oversees the area of Automation and Robotics.  David is a visiting Professor at Stankin University in Russia and de-la-Salle University in the Philippines, both funded by the British Council and a NATO Fellowship in collaboration with Professor Mike Purvis.

Dr Giles Tewkesbury (A0-22 - giles.tewkesbury@port.ac.uk) is a Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical and Design Engineering department.  Dr Tewkesbury oversees the area of Computing and Electronics.  He has been an investigator for several projects in the past.
