European Masters in Translation

European Master's in Translation

In May 2011 Portsmouth's MA Translation Studies programme became a member of the European Masters in Translation network run by the Directorate-General for Translation at the European Commission. This recognises the quality of our training and of our preparation for the translation profession.

The European Masters in Translation (EMT) network is a partnership between the European Commission and universities who offer MA programmes in translation. The main goal of the project is to establish a quality label for university translation programmes that meet agreed standards in relation to curriculum, teaching, professional preparation, infrastructure and facilities. The EMT aims to ensure that programmes are based on a skills-oriented curriculum that will fit graduates to work successfully in today's fast-changing translation market.
