Learning and Teaching
A range of learning and teaching methods is used on our courses. This includes timetabled group teaching through workshops, lectures, reviews, presentations, seminars and also via individual tutorials.
For projects you will be asked to work as an individual or as part of a small team. An important part of project work is the review, where you will be expected to present your work for comment and guidance to tutors and your peers. There will be 'hands on' practical sessions, complemented by discussion-based seminars and opportunities for independent learning.
Independent learning is crucial at undergraduate level and you will be expected to independently engage in research and development for projects, self directed reading, written work, and software practice, supported by study aids.
If you have any disability, specific learning difficulty (eg dyslexia) or long term health condition and wish to discuss what support is available to you, please contact the Additional Support and Disability Advice Centre on 02392 843462, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
All such discussions will respect any confidentiality requirements.
The University offers a confidential Wellbeing Service, based in the Nuffield Centre. For further information please call 023 9284 3157 or e-mail email@example.com.
New International Students
In addition to the activities above, an Orientation Programme will be given to you at check-in by the University's International Office, with details of earlier events including Registration. Further details and an indicative programme are available on the International Student Support page.
