School of Engineering

Women in Engineering

We actively encourage equality and diversity in engineering and technology

One of our core aims is to promote the advancement of women in engineering and technology and to increase the number of female students in engineering education, research and in the engineering industry.

We support our female students through personal tutoring and learning support - both physically and virtually - in order to encourage the next generation female engineers and to promote equality and diversity in engineering and technology.

The School of Engineering endorses the principles and values of the Athena SWAN charter and we actively encourage our female staff and students to participate in Open Days and outreach events for girls thinking about studying engineering.
