As a mature student I gained a BSc (Hons) Physiology followed by a MA Res Sc awarded in February 2016. Prior experience and expertise gained is at the interface of clinical and complementary approaches to healthcare with more than 20 years’ involvement in a wide range of profit and non-profit applications. This includes working with adults with acquired brain injuries, as teaching assistant for children with special education needs, and as a medical writer. These experiences have provided an in-depth understanding of person and patient centred care and sparked a keen interest in research that focuses on improving quality of life in compromised cohorts.
I assist Dr Saseendran Pallikadavath with the Portsmouth-Brawijaya Centre for Global Health, Population, and Policy (PB Centre) collaboration between the University of Portsmouth in the United Kingdom, and the University of Brawijaya in Malang, Indonesia. I also manage the peer review process for manuscripts submitted for the special Journal of Biosocial Sciences volume “Causes and implications of low fertility in developing countries” that Dr Pallikadavath is editing.
