Biography

I am a highly motivated and skilled nurse educator with registration in both Adult and Children’s nursing and a wealth of experience across clinical practice and Higher Education.

Previous academic roles include Deputy Field Lead of the University of Southampton Bachelor of Nursing (Adult) programme, Academic Integrity and Fitness to Practice Officer, Faculty Lead for resuscitation, module lead and personal academic tutor. I have also been heavily involved in designing, resourcing and delivering simulation, clinical skills, classroom based and virtual learning resources. An additional role has been the support of students with disabilities or learning differences in managing their learning needs.

Prior to my appointment as a lecturer within the University of Southampton I gained a great quantity of clinical practice experience within Critical Care at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS trust. I am also an Advanced Life Support provider and qualified as a Resuscitation Council (UK) Instructor in 2007.

I was appointed to the role of Senior Lecturer in the University of Portsmouth in July 2016 as a founder member of the Bachelor of Nursing programme team.
