We can provide free and confidential information and advice on a range of civil and welfare issues such as;

  • Can I leave my tenancy early?
  • My employer has not paid me, what can I do?
  • How do I make a claim in the small claims court?
  • Can I cancel my mobile phone contract?

Everyone is welcome to attend the clinic; University employees, students, friends and family; anyone who lives or works in the Portsmouth area and beyond.

Advice is available by appointment or at our drop in service and by email

Our clinic advisers are third year law students supervised by a qualified solicitor and a support tutor

What you can expect from the clinic

We offer an appointment and drop in service at the John Pounds Centre, Queen Street every Wednesday afternoon from 1.00pm – 4.00pm. From October 2016, we will also be offering the service every Monday morning, 10.00am – 1.00pm, from the Somerstown Central Community Centre in Winston Churchill Avenue.

The service is provided free of charge.

Where an enquiry is particularly complex or requires specialist support, we can help to signpost you to the most relevant alternative provider.
