I am the unit coordinator on the MA short screenwriting project. I teach on the MA Media Cultures and Industries unit and on the MA Creative Writing degree. I am the unit coordinator on The Script and Writing For Children and Young Adults. I also teach on several other strands of the BA Creative Writing degree; including Short Story, Tips Tricks and Techniques and True Stories. I am a published author, I co-wrote The Juicy Guide to Brighton and Hove. I am also a produced screenwriter, script editor and producer. Credits include Michael Radford’s Merchant of Venice starring Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons and John Duigan’s Head in The Clouds starring Charlize Theron and Penelope Cruz. I co-wrote The Secret of Moonacre directed by Gabor Csupo starring Ioan Gruffudd and Juliet Stevenson, which was released by Warner Bros in 2009. I also co-wrote The Ninth Cloud, starring Michael Madsen and Megan Maczko, which is due to be released in September 2016. I have just finished writing the screenplay Honour for Rough Diamond productions in Los Angeles, due to be filmed in 2017. I am producing The Quarter, a drama comedy set in London, and we have just received development finance from Creative England. I am an external marker at the London College of Communication on the Culture and Media Studies Course and I regularly give guest lectures on the MA Creative Writing course at Brighton University and on the BA film studies course at Liverpool John Moores.

In 2015 I received a Research Accelerator Fund grant to travel to New York and Los Angeles to explore gender disparity in the film business. The research led to a documentary Through Her Eyes, which I am co-directing with Maria Giese, who is known for instigating the biggest industry–wide federal investigation for women directors in Hollywood history. I have just finishing writing Honour, which is set in Turkey and explores LGBT issues against a background of honour killing and is set at the time of the Gezi Park riots in 2013. I have adapted four novels for the screen and I am interested in exploring issues around diversity and gender in my practice.
