Dr Mike Redgrave completed both his undergraduate studies and produced his doctoral thesis at the University of Portsmouth.

He is currently the second year tutor for the Politics department.

He also acts as the library liaison officer for the department.

His teaching and research interests are in Foreign Policy-making (with specific emphasis on the UK and the US); and also in other key areas of International Relations. Of relatively new but increasing interest to him are studies into the effects of Social Darwinism in global politics and in the policy agendas of influential groups and governments and in the ambitions and designs of the most powerful states in the international system.

Dr Redgrave teaches on a vast range of undergraduate and post-graduate modules and coordinates two units both in the second year: Conflict and Disaster: Analysing Responses of International Institutions and Comparative Foreign Policy Analysis. He supervises students at Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral levels.
