Landlord and Tenant Law is constantly changing and practitioners have no choice but to keep pace with both the statutory framework and with the very large body of case law which affects its interpretation. This popular annual
course is designed to allow both professionals and interest holders to keep abreast of those changes and to understand their implications for practice. The focus is primarily on commercial property, but will include some issues relevant to residential property.
The detailed content of the course is determined by what has occurred in the recent past, particularly the last year, and will include current issues and cases relating to:
- the general law of Landlord and Tenant
- rent reviews
- repairing covenants
- dispute resolution
- grounds of opposition under part 11 of the 1954 Act
- the Codes of Practice
Sandi Murdoch has published extensively, including in the Encyclopaedia of Forms and Precedents, and has served as contributor to and editor of the Estates Gazette’s Legal Notes since 1978. That work, and her many contributions to CPD sessions, have made her one of the best known contributors to the understanding of property law by members of RICS and other property professions.
