Constructio n Law is constantly changing and property professionals need to be kept abreast of changes in the statutes and in their interpretation by the courts. The purpose of this annual course is to provide a comprehensive update on developments in the law relating to construction projects and disputes. It is delivered by a leading national expert who is a member of the Council and former chairman of the Society of Construction Law. It will be of interest and value not only to surveyors but also to members of many other professions including architects, engineers and lawyers.
The course covers:
- public procurement and challenges to tender processes
- developments in construction contract law
- liability of professionals and contractors
- the position of the expert witness following Jones v Kaney
- dispute resolution round-up: arbitration, adjudication, and alternative methods of dispute resolution
Anthony Lavers is the Consultant Editor to the RICS books ‘Case in Point’ series, in which he co-authored the ‘Expert Witness’ title. He is Counsel in the Construction & Engineering Group at international law firm White & Case and Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Portsmouth and at Oxford Brookes University.
