Creative Writing in a Foreign Language

Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all works submitted:

• The competition is a completely voluntary exercise.
• The competition is open to all language students irrespective of language level or grade.
• Students studying at Portsmouth for one semester only (either Semester One or Two) may still apply, but must provide a forwarding address or email address so we can send the results and/or a copy of the published booklet.
• The written work must be created in a language that is not the student's original mother tongue.
• Work must be submitted by the deadline stated.
• Each work must be submitted with an entry form.
• Students may submit written coursework or any other written work carried out during either semester.
• Students may submit as many works as they wish, provided an entry form is completed for each work.
• Students studying two or more languages may submit work in each language of study, but different translations of the same work are not allowed.
• Work must be entirely the work of the author(s) and copyright regulations will apply.
