The Foundation Degree in Local Government at Portsmouth is an innovative work-based degree for workers in local authorities. 

The course has been developed in consultation with local government employers to deliver skills and knowledge relevant to public administration roles.  As a Foundation degree, it encourages reflection and accreditation of learning achieved in the workplace, combined with modern distance learning techniques developed for the highly successful Portsmouth FdA in Government.  Additionally, reflective activity is integrated into the course to ensure that all academic learning integrates with students' roles.
