Travel insurance

This insurance automatically covers all staff and students for emergency assistance while undertaking authorised visits involving travel outside England, Scotland and Wales on the business of the University. A summary of the insurance cover for both staff and students can be downloaded:

Note: New Insurers from 1 August 2012

Following competitive tender, with effect from 1 August 2012 the University's Travel Insurers will be changing to Chartis/AIG Europe Ltd.

Please note that any staff or student travelling overseas on University Business who leaves the UK BEFORE 1 August 2012 will be covered under the existing travel insurance policy with Maven Underwriting for the duration of their trip.  In the event of an emergency they should phone the existing 24 hour emergency assistance number +44 (0) 20 7173 7797.

Travellers leaving AFTER 1 August 2012 will be covered under the new insurance policy with Chartis/AIG Europe Ltd.  The new emergency assistance number is +44 (0) 1273 400850 from 1 August. Please quote policy number 0015865120.
