General Information

Employee Assistance Programme

Employee Assistance ProgrammeThe University provides an Employee Assistance Programme for staff through Right Management Workplace Wellness.

Right Management Workplace Wellness offers a free, confidential Helpline which provides unlimited access to information, advice and support, and onward referral to telephone or face-to-face counselling where appropriate. The service is designed to help individuals deal with a range of problems, no matter how big or small, which may affect their personal lives or performance at work.

How does the scheme work?

The scheme is initially accessed via a freephone helpline - 0800 1116 387 - staffed by specially trained advisers, who can be contacted 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as many times as necessary. Callers to the Helpline are given unlimited support, advice and information to help deal with their concerns. This service can be used for a wide range of issues, both work and non-work related.

Accessing the Helpline

When calling the Helpline - 0800 1116 387 - the qualified adviser who answers only needs to know the name of the sponsoring organisation and in some cases the department in which you work – your name can be withheld if you wish. If however, you go on to face-to-face or telephone counselling or require legal information, debt or money management advice, the telephone adviser will need your personal details.

Whenever you have a concern or issue, however large or small, the EAP Helpline is on hand to help – in private and at no cost to you. Advisers are specially trained to help with:

  • work or career related problems
  • housing
  • relationships
  • children
  • money
  • your rights
  • health and wellbeing
  • management support
  • retirement
  • illness
  • crisis
  • trauma
  • emotional support
