General Information
Communicator designs
The University staff magazine, Communicator, has been produced quarterly in its current form for several years. As a result of the recent staff communication review, we will reduce the publication to three issues per year and will redesign the magazine to give a fresh new format.
It’s your magazine, so we’d like your views on some proposed new designs. These are mocked-up pages using content from previous editions, so it’s the design and layout, rather than the content, that we’d like your views on.
While we’re talking about Communicator, here are some facts:
- Communicator is read by more than 84 per cent of respondents to the recent staff communication review.
- While many of you like access to the online version, a printed publication remains a popular choice.
- Communicator is printed on 100 per cent recycled, carbon-balanced paper from suppliers with Forestry Stewardship Council credentials and ISO14001 environmental management standards.
- We distribute around 2,000 copies of Communicator per edition, to be shared within departments amongst 2,500 staff, and we frequently reduce this number where staff are happy to share or read it online.
We will be reducing from four to three issues per year – in March, July and December – further reducing our printing.
