Initial and Continuing Professional Development (ICPD) Policy
The Initial and Continuing Professional Development Policy outlines:
- the purpose and importance of professional development
- the entitlement and responsibilities for professional development
- the identification of professional development needs and professional development planning
- the criteria for success, including the monitoring and evaluation of professional development
The ICPD Policy recognises continuing professional development in the widest sense, to include mentoring, self-directed learning, experiential learning, job shadowing, exchanges and conferences in addition to scholarship and course-based learning.
