Target Audience:

This event is appropriate for any member of University of Portsmouth staff who currently has people management or supervisory elements to their role.

Outline:

The event will provide participants with an opportunity to develop the skills and techniques for proactively engaging in challenging conversations and to successfully address difficult topics, thus maintaining constructive working relationships. 

Learning Outcomes:

On completion of the workshop participants will:

• Have the practical tools and skills to effectively plan for crucial conversations.
• Be able to proactively engage in challenging conversations.
• Reframe language to reduce the potential for conflict.
• Have a greater awareness of their preferred style of communication and its impact.
