This interactive session is for all staff, both new and existing, experienced and inexperienced.

The session will begin with an outline of current equality legislation, how it has changed over the last few years and how it relates to the University of Portsmouth context. We will also provide an update on equality and diversity at the University.

The Equality Act 2010 requires the University to have due regard to the need to eliminate unlawful discrimination - advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations. The second part of the session will look at these key areas for the University and participants will work in groups to identify where these areas impact on professional practice and how these key areas may be addressed and enhanced in their own subject areas with regard to the student experience.
