Support Staff Association Annual General Meeting

Share |

The Support Staff Association (SSA) Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 25 May 2011, 12.00 noon-2.00pm, Portland Building room 0.27 and we are now looking for nominees to stand for election as Chair, Vice-chair and Secretary.

Are you are a member of support staff who is interested in promoting communication within our University community and championing the well-being of your colleagues?

If so, then please consider standing for election as an Officer on the SSA Committee. The SSA Committee normally meets at least five times per academic year and the majority of meetings last about an hour. In the interests of continuity, elected Officers would normally be expected to continue in their role for a minimum of two years.

Getting involved can be a great way to meet other people across the University and the role might even provide useful material for your CV. The role of Secretary might particularly suit someone who wished to develop their skills with minute taking and organising meetings.

If you are interested then please send your details to nigel.green@port.ac.uk, indicating the role for which you are standing and including the names of a proposer and a seconder. The closing date for nominations is Wednesday 11 May 2011.

Do you want to know more about what is involved? Just contact either Nigel Green, SSA Chair (ext. 3184) or David Sherren, SSA Vice-chair (ext. 3655).
