What's on
Paid participants required for two perception studies
Researcher: Dr Anne Hillstrom, Department of Psychology
Compensation:£5 for each
Time commitment: up to 45 minutes for each
Dates: 13 June until 31 July 2011.
Study 1
People can understand the gist of scenes within about two tenths of a second. We want to understand how the nature of what is understood rapidly relates to people's more general cognitive skills. You would complete two paper tests of skill and two computer tests of scene perception. The scenes flash quite briefly.
Study 2
Why is perception of objects in X-ray images of luggage so difficult? You will be asked to identify pairs of objects that have been scanned by a luggage scanner, and are presented very briefly in one of a few different display methods. We want to learn which method allows the best identification.
