The connections between food suppliers and category managers in own brand new food product development projects

My research aims to evaluate the connection between food suppliers and category managers in own brand new food product development projects. This research will also provide new insights into the way category managers maintain an effective collaboration between manufactures, retailers and customers, as a whole. Moreover, This study seeks to present emerging role of category managers and their tactics in new product development. In the highly competitive fast-moving consumer goods market, category management is important for the retailers to attain not only a high market share and revenue, but also the cost advantage. This study will provide new understanding of opportunities associated with category planning for the product manufacturers/suppliers, retailers and customers. With this research study, knowledge of category management/manager’s role in the food retailing sector will be enhanced.
