The implications of new service development for the World Cup on the UAE and its economic growth

My research aims to review existing methods, and develop and apply a new model to measure the economic impact of investments in the development of new services, both at the time of the event and into the future. The methods employed will be used as a model for future planners to utilise when attempting to forecast the number of visitors to such a major event, and the potential future returns. Furthermore this method will also support potential investors and related government organization to get an estimated outcome from their investment. Nevertheless many countries holding major sporting events, such as a football World Cup or Olympic Games, fail to capture the potential longer-term benefits from their investments and developments. Therefore, In order to help decision makers, investors and planners, a reliable method is needed for calculating the number of visitors that will attend Qatar & its UAE community for this World Cup in 2022, and methods by which the potential benefits of investments can be captured into the future.
