Biography

A former RAF navigator, I joined Portsmouth Business School in March 2015 having elected to take voluntary early retirement from the Service in order to pursue a second career in academia. During my service career I undertook a number of leadership development roles, in addition to flying duties, including appointments at the Britannia Royal Naval College, Royal Air Force College and Royal Air Force Leadership Centre.  In my final service role I was responsible for the development of the RAF’s generic education and training syllabus undertaken by all RAF personnel as part of their through life development programme.

In addition to my MBA, I have recently completed a professional certificate in coaching with Henley Business School and am undertaking a part-time PhD with Leeds University Business School where my research focusses on the role of trust in facilitating de-centralised decision making.

Teaching Responsibilities

My teaching portfolio currently comprises International Relations, International Law, Air Power, Military History and Leadership Studies at both undergraduate and post-graduate level.
