Welcome to e-intro frequently asked questions
Here we will attempt to answer some of the more common questions about our e-intro welcome programme.
Do I have to use e-intro?
- Yes ! - e-intro is an integral part of your initial learning experience with the University of Portsmouth
- e-intro will provide essential information in relation to your stay in halls and will allow you to check your contract details and print off two copies to bring with you on arrival
- All of this will only take about 20 minutes
I have lost my e-intro letter –how do I login?
- Do not be concerned, we can help
- Contact the student housing office
- You will have some security questions to verify and then you will be given your login details and will be told how to find the login details on the web pages
The e-intro login page is not working
- Check that you have typed the correct URL
- http://www.port.ac.uk/eintrologin
- Another option is https://portsmouth.induction.org.uk
- If you find that the webpage is still not working try contacting your hall of residence
- Tell the person that there appears to be a fault and ask them to check for you.
- If its working for them it may be your a fault with your own service provider, try logging in later.
- If there is a fault with e-intro we will attempt to fix it within a few hours
I see the login page but can’t login to e-intro
- Check that you are using the correct web browser URL
- http://www.port.ac.uk/eintrologin
- In the login boxes, check that you are typing your correct user ID and password in lower case
- If you are still unable to login please contact your hall of residence
I can login but the programme appears to run slowly.
- This might be caused by a number of factors
- There may be a high demand for people logging into the service, try logging in at a later time
- If you are using a dial up connection, then the dial up access will have a limiting effect on speed, but please stick with it.
- It may be that your own internet service provider is experiencing a high demand for service, try logging in at a later time.
I can login but the screen information seems a bit jumbled up
- E-intro is best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024 X768
- You will need to refer to their your computer manual to do this.
The programme wont let me progress through the modules
- The programme has an inbuilt timer to ensure that modules are properly read, take your time in reading each page fully
- The programme will ask ‘check point’ questions, these need to be answered correctly before you can move to another module
I see a series of navigation bars on the right of the screen but I can’t use them
- The navigation bars will only become available when you have completed each module
