Housing Support Events
Student Housing will be holding housing support events during the summer. These offer support to any new students who need to get on-the-spot help whilst house-hunting.
The sessions will offer students:
- Members of the Student Housing Team on site to assist with all enquiries
- Social opportunities to meet other students who are looking for accommodation in a relaxed, secure environment
- House-hunting booklets
- Tenancy Deposit Scheme information
- Blank inventories
- ‘Support Fair’ Information (literature form other sections/agencies that may be of use)
Secure a Home Events
These events are held over weekends in August and September to provide a housing experience to help you to find somewhere to live in the city’s private rented accommodation. These events give you the opportunity, in a friendly and supportive environment, to meet other students and potential housemates who are also looking for accommodation.
At these events we will provide:
- Bus tours of the city
- Workshops on housing advice
- Social events to meet other students and potential housemates
- Support fayre providing information on private sector accommodation
- Updated information on properties available to rent
- The student housing team are available throughout the event for help and advice
- Minibuses to transport you round the city
- Overnight accommodation in a hall of residence will be available
At the event support and assistance will be given by the Students Housing Team and the Students’ Union.
Our house hunting events are very successful in helping students to both find their housemates and their first home.
Full information on all the housing support events are supplied through the ‘e-intro’ program, details of which are sent to relevant students by Student Housing once they have firmly accepted a place to study at the university.
