At the University of Portsmouth, our focus on career-enhancing activities, excellent teaching and exceptional support for students helps you get a job when you graduate and significantly increases your earning potential.

More than 96% of Portsmouth graduates find a job or continue with their studies within six months of graduating. This makes our graduates the most successful from all south-east universities.

Earn more when you graduate

At Portsmouth, you’ll also boost your earning potential – not only do our graduates earn more than the sector average, but The Economist recently found we do more than any other UK university to boost our graduates’ earnings.

The Economist’s research shows the average University of Portsmouth graduate earns £3,100 (13%) above expectations, five years after graduation.

To calculate a university’s impact on its graduates’ salaries, The Economist compared each university’s graduates’ earnings with the average predicted salary of a student. It based this on several factors, including previous exam results and social background.

How we prepare you for employment

To get you ready for the world of work, we give you ongoing careers support from the start your course to several years after you finish.
