You can use this scholarship alongside the Government Postgraduate Loan scheme.

- Be a current University of Portsmouth student from the UK
- Apply for a full-time MA, MSc, MPA, MRes or LLM course and accept an offer on it by 30 June 2018
- Achieve a first class or upper second class honours degree
See the terms and conditions for full eligibility criteria.
If you're not a current student, see our Master's Scholarship for new students.
If you're studying a full-time Master’s course over two years you'll receive the scholarship in the first year only.
These Master's Scholarships are limited. So we can't guarantee you'll get a Master's Scholarship if you're eligible.
You'll need to meet the specific entry criteria for the course you want apply for. We give priority to students who show the highest academic achievement from low household incomes.
You can only get one University of Portsmouth scholarship. For example, this Master’s Scholarship or the Alumni Scholarship – not both.
How to apply
To be considered for the Master’s Scholarship you need to accept an offer on a full-time MA, MSc, MPA or LLM course by 30 June 2018.
You don't need to do a separate application for the Master’s Scholarship – we'll let you know if you're successful in early July 2018. You don't have to accept it if another University scholarship is more suitable for you.
The University's decision on the allocation of the scholarship is in accordance with the terms and conditions and is final. There's no appeals process.
