Around 200 teaching rooms, lecture theatres and IT suites across the campus will be refurbished over the next five years, starting with many spaces this summer.
Estates and Information Services (IS) have audited the standard of rooms and have recommended refurbishments and upgrades. Most rooms will become pooled spaces, allowing for easier maintenance of facilities and equipment on a rolling five-year cycle.
Rooms will be redecorated and new furniture provided where necessary. Audio/visual equipment will be upgraded to provide a higher quality experience for staff and students using teaching rooms.
The rooms will no longer support old-format VHS material. Staff can contact their IS Service Delivery Manager to discuss ways of transferring VHS to DVD format.
