Protect your bicycle

Cycling is cheap, ecologically friendly and a great way to move in Portsmouth but unfortunately, bicycle theft is a reality of life. Protect your bicycle, be smarter than the opportunistic thieves.

Most bicycle thefts happen because cyclists use low quality locks which are easily cut with bolt croppers. Buy a D lock and use it to lock the frame and if possible, wheels of your bicycle. A good D lock may seem expensive but it will be a wise investment.

You can also have your bicycle security marked for free, please contact PC Dave Fairbrother (details below).

The University provides safe cycle storage in some buildings. To access these areas you need to get authorisation from Security Lodge, please go to the Lodge (behind University House) between 9.00 and 4.00pm from Monday to Friday.
