This year’s Student Volunteering Week is taking place from Monday 20 February to Friday 24 February and is set to be bigger and better than ever.
The week is packed full of taster sessions, fairs and drop-in surgeries for all your volunteering needs.
Who is involved and what will happen?
The Students’ Union is teaming up with Purple Door Careers and Recruitment to offer you the best opportunities to learn new skills, gain new experiences and meet new people. Volunteering is a fantastic way to try something different and it looks great on your CV, so get involved.
Sports clubs and Societies will be putting on taster sessions throughout the week for you to come and try a new skill. UPSU will also be offering ‘give it a go’ volunteering sessions at community organisations around the city so you can see first-hand what volunteering involves.
Want to help with the event?
If you are part of a sports club or society and want to offer taster sessions for other students to experience volunteering in your area of interest, get now in touch with the Volunteer Coordinator at alice.larden@upsu.net.
Student Volunteering Fayre
The week will close with the annual Student Volunteering Fayre, this year in conjunction with Portsmouth City Council. Local community groups, charities and businesses will come together in 3rd Space on Friday 24 February to talk to you face-to-face about their opportunities.
Come along to find out more, sign up for information and volunteering placements and of course, those all important freebies.
