Tuesday security tip: Be alert

As security technology advances in its power and sophistication we should all be safer. However, cyber criminals are constantly developing new tools and strategies to overcome our defences. They usually take user ignorance, complacency or apathy to their advantage.

Cyber criminals may ask you for your password, offer you a free download or ask you to visit a website. Their scams can appear authentic, innocent, even helpful. If that doesn’t work, they may try to scare you into a trap.

It pays to be overcautious.
