We are all getting better at recognising a phishing attempt so crooks are changing their tactics. Increasingly common is the unexpected phone call from Microsoft claiming that your computer is infected.
They don’t ask for money – not straight away – and they may take a couple of days and repeated calls to gain your trust.
What can you do?
- trust your instincts
- never tell anybody your passwords or financial details
